Modular B-Class Hoardings are an improvement to scaffolding and in particular to an improved scaffolding gantry suitable particularly for erection on a footpath or public way to allow pedestrian passage thereunder but to protect pedestrians from possible falling debris associated with building construction or demolition whilst supporting scaffolds overhead, site accommodation and stored materials.

Speedy Gantry Hire commissioned Dr. Chris Letchford to undertake wind tunnel tests at the University of Queensland to determine the wind loads to cause overturning of the entire gantry. Research undertaken by Dr. Chris Letchford's at Oxford University, forms the basis of the Australian Wind Loads Code provisions for free standing walls and hoardings AS 1170.1
